ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – A 19-year-old was killed in a rollover crash near Albuquerque after the driver of the vehicle he was in swerved to avoid a coyote.

Bernalillo County investigators say Jesus Barraza was thrown from the vehicle he was riding in Saturday when the driver swerved. He died at the hospital after the crash.

Investigators are still trying to determine if alcohol or speed were factors.

This is the third rollover crash to kill a teen in less than a month in the Albuquerque area. In February, 17-year-old Freddie Lovato was killed while driving to school on Interstate 25 and last week 18-year-old Stephan Ramirez was killed while driving to Moriarty High School.
