Thief steals trailer from local Boy Scout troop

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A flatbed trailer has been stolen from local Boy Scout troop and now they can’t go camping.

Someone swiped the trailer sometime Sunday or Monday from a locked gate at the Calvary Church on Indian School near Constitution.

The trailer is important for Boy Scout troop 459. The kids, ages 11 to 15, go camping every month and use it to haul their gear.

“The kids are handling it pretty well,” said Scout Master Ron Fernandez. “Their whole concern was what do we have to do to replace it… is there some service projects we can do, earn some money to get that done?”

This is the second time the troop has had their trailer stolen. Another one was ripped off five years ago.
