Gladiators ready for season two in the Duke City

Duke City Gladiators

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Duke City Gladiators finished their last day of two-a-days on Wednesday.

The team will get it’s first taste of competition in 2016 when the Texas Stealth comes to Tingley Coliseum March 5.

The Gladiators won their league of indoor football last season with a 5-4 record.

Coach Dominic Bramante is seeking the same kind of success in 2016.

“Upgraded in every position,” said Bramante. “We’ve brought back to the team everyone that we wanted to bring back. So we want a team, and we’ve said it before, we want a team that epitomizes Albuquerque. You need to win here in this town.”

Upgrades have been made to the Gladiators playing surface with a new padding installed under the field.

The team also made improvements with it’s VIP boxes and brought in a new co-owner. Realtor John Lopez is now part owner of the team with Matt Caward.
