ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – John Dodson has been spending time with his daughter and enjoying the spoils of fatherhood.
He hasn’t had a fight since his loss on September 5th to Flyweight champion, Demetrius Johnson. That will change soon.
Dodson is scheduled for a UFC fight in April. A formal announcement could come any day now.
Dodson, who became a dad in his last fight week, has stayed in shape hoping to get an opponent. He is moving up in weight to the 135 pound division.
Dodson’s loss was at 125. He said he felt good about cutting weight until the last week. He believes he is at his best when fighting at 135 pounds.
“I am more explosive as a fighter when I can have those dynamic advantages, said Dodson. “This is one of those times I can be. Like fighting guys like T.J. Dillishaw and Dominick Cruz, people who want to exchange in battle on their feet, that is going to be more of my style.”
