John’s Wednesday Evening Forecast

Some wind on the way...

After hitting a few record highs today, we’ll have the shot to do it again Thursday as a southwesterly flow takes hold. At the same time a storm system will pass north through Colorado. New Mexico will sit between the departing ridge and the storm, meaning wind will be a huge issue Thursday. Eastern New Mexico and the higher elevations will see the strongest winds with gusts up to 60 mph.

The winds come down and some moisture works into the state Friday. However this will only be enough moisture to increase the cloud cover. A cold front slides in over the weekend helping to pull temps down by several degrees, but afternoon highs will still top out above average.

The weather continues to be mild and sunny for the start of the next week. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
