ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police have arrested a man accused of stabbing two motel guests.

Police said Johnny Romero, 36, walked into the lobby of a Motel 6 at 1701 University NE Wednesday night and stabbed the pair for ‘no reason at all.’

Police initially expected one of the victims, identified as Bailey Quentes, 38, of Los Lunas, to survive, but he died from his injuries at the hospital.

The investigation showed Romero stabbed Quentes suddenly and without provocation, then as he left the motel also stabbed a 66 year old woman from Georgia.

Romero was booked into the county jail and charged with aggravated battery with an attempt to injure, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence. His charges will be changed to include to the homicide at the Grand Jury setting, according to police.
