Two Albuquerque students honored for helping a woman in need

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)– The city is recognizing two high school students for helping a woman.

Andy Chavez and Elio Luna are sophomores at West Mesa High.

Back in September they stopped at a gas station and realized a woman was having a stroke.

They waited with her and comforted her until help arrived.

Both Chavez and Luna were late for their first period of school which was soccer.

A firefighter escorted Andy and Elio to soccer practice to make sure their tardiness was excused.
