ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Not only does New Mexico have talented chefs, it also has hidden gems that are now considered some of the country’s top destinations spots.
One local organization has mapped out one amazing trail for either those visiting the Land of Enchantment or who have lived here their whole lives. Either way, it is something new for everyone.
The New Mexico True Culinary Trail or the Chocolate Trail is just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Trail-goers can begin their quest to satisfy their sweet tooth in southern New Mexico at Old Mesilla and head their way up North to Santa Fe. Along the way, artisanal chocolatiers are using divine NM produce, like Chile and pinon, to create the most intense flavors of NM.
Some of the places that seem to be overlooked through out New Mexico have been highlighted in Lonely Planet, the world’s leading travel guidebook publisher.
Lonely Planet has just released it’s annual “Best in the U.S. Top Ten” list, naming Southern New Mexico No. 9 out of all travel destinations in the country for 2016.
Some of the places talked about where the Organ Mountains, White Sands National Monument and Volcano Fields.
