ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A former New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department employee has pleaded guilty to child solicitation charges.

Benjamin Anaya, 51, worked in the CYFD mail room when he was arrested for paying young girls to send him naked pictures.

He had been at CYFD for 17 years, but officials say at no time did he have contact with children as part of his job.

Yesterday, Anaya took a plea that requires him to serve three years of supervised probation.

He’ll also have to register as a sex offender for 10 years, and complete a sex offender treatment program. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
