Southern New Mexico sites ranked among best in the US

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Lonely Planet, a leading travel company and guidebook publisher released its annual Best in the U.S. Top 10. The list ranks southern New Mexico at number 9.

It highlighted White Sands National Monument, the Organ Mountains, the Gila Cliff Dwellings and Valley of Fires.

The publication with the rest of the winners will hit social media and newsstands in March.

The Four Corners region made the same list in 2012.
