Program launched to curb drug trafficking

SANTA FE (KRQE) – A program has been put in place to help curb illegal drug trafficking in Santa Fe.

The Drug Tip Hot-line was launched to help combat drug related crimes and prevent further destruction of families due to drug addiction.

The hot-line primarily serves the city of Santa Fe, but calls are also being received from surrounding communities. All information is screened and then forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

While callers can remain anonymous, success rates increase when callers leave contact information and detailed information. Detailed reports include vehicle descriptions, license plates, suspect descriptions and in-depth accounts of the alleged activity.

The more detailed a caller is, the easier it is for a detective to observe the criminal, alleviating the need for the caller to testify in court.

However, because each case is unique, the time that it takes to resolve each case varies.

To submit information, people can call the Drug Tip Hot-line number at (505) 428-3737. For more information, visit their website. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
