Tuesday marks 7-year anniversary of West Mesa murders

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Seven years ago today, the first victim in the West Mesa murders was discovered.

A woman was walking her dog near 118th Street and Dennis Chavez when she came upon the bones. By the end of the month, investigators found the shallow graves for 11 women one was pregnant.

Police say all of the women were involved in drugs or prostitution and disappeared between 2001 and 2006.

To this day, no arrests have been made.
