Permission granted to seize former sheriff’s funds

Witness defends Rodella during trial

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The feds have been given the okay to seize the savings accounts of former Rio Arriba County Sheriff Tommy Rodella.

Rodella is serving a 10 year prison sentence for violating a man’s civil rights during an off duty traffic stop. Along with prison time, Rodella was ordered to pay about $200,000 in court fines.

A judge has approved an order to seize $70,000 Rodella had in seven different bank accounts.

Rodella was recently denied his appeal for a new trial.
