ROSWELL N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico food truck is in the running for best burger truck in the whole country.
Chef Todzillas Mobile Cuisine made the top 10 for best burger truck and now they say they need more votes to win it all.
The food truck is famous in Roswell.
“We have an awesome clientele, they love us and so they nominated us to be part of it,” said Owner Kerry Moore.
This is the food truck’s second year in the nationwide competition for the best food truck burger on mobile-cuisine.com.
They’ve made it into the top 10 and now they’re hoping with enough votes they can win it all.
“Nobody’s patty can beat our patty anywhere, I guarantee it,” said owner and cook, Todd Alexander.
They say their use of fresh local ingredients makes them stand out from the competition.
“I think that sets us apart, we don’t have freezers, nothing comes in here frozen so we try to make sure that we are a part of our community,” said Moore.
Alexander made two of his local favorites for KRQE News 13. He made a chicken burger, with ground chicken breast that is cut 70/30 with bacon.
He also made a chorizo burger. “I make the chorizo myself as well so it’s pork tenderloin, bacon and red chile from a local farm,” he said.
Going up against food trucks from much bigger cities like Dallas, Las Vegas and Tucson, Todd says he’s just happy to represent New Mexico.
“To be head to head against nine other trucks in huge metro areas, it enormous, it’s a huge honor just to be mentioned with them and I think we’ve got a run at it,” he said.
Voting ends Friday. To check out the website and vote click here.
