Albuquerque Fire Department puts out late night fire

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – AFD handled a fire late Tuesday night that caused significant structural damage.

The fire happened on the 900 block of Georgia SE at about 9:15 p.m.

AFD said that the fire was in a void between the original roof and and a built up secondary roof.

Firefighters were forced to fight the fire defensively until it was under control. There was no one in the house and it is believed to be vacant. No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation.
