Homeless man shot by Albuquerque attorney testifies

Chip Venie

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)The homeless man, who was shot by an attorney in Albuquerque, took the stand on Wednesday.

The attorney for David Chip asked Stephen Biddinger about the drugs he had taken the day he was shot. He told them he was still “tweaking” on “ice man.”

Biddinger says Venie taunted him on the street and that’s why he stepped into his law office.

A short time later, he was shot. “I was calling his bluff, I didn’t think at that time he was really going to shoot me,” said Venie.

Venie still maintains it was self-defense.

Prosecutors don’t buy it, saying Venie was unarmed.
