Taos man accused of beating girlfriend to death convicted

TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) – A Taos man has been convicted of beating his girlfriend to death.

According to the Taos News, a jury convicted Henry Wilton of involuntary manslaughter. They believe he beat Angela Serrano while on a camping trip in Tres Ritos in 2014.

When she was taken to the hospital three days later and near death she told first responders it was Wilton who had hurt her.

Wilton may be sentenced to 18 months in prison.

He was charged with first degree murder, but the jury opted for the lesser charge.
