Non-profit holds community service projects

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – To honor MLK, one local non-profit is pushing kids into action.

For their 10th annual day of service, Southwest Youth Services is conducting six community service projects on Monday.

Volunteers at city parks are picking up trash and cleaning graffiti.

At the Native American Community Academy, they are making blankets for kids in need, while others are vacuuming and cleaning the center.

The non-profit is also hosting workshops on healthy eating and money management. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
