Theater Thursday: Hamlet

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – As part of its commemoration of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, the Vortex Theatre is proud to announce its production of The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark.  Arguably Shakespeare’s most famous play, Hamlet is among the most powerful and influential tragedies in English literature.  After 400 years, Hamlet still retains its power to trigger thoughts and move emotions.  This production, however, takes on a more modern twist, with an implementation of cell phones even.

‘Hamlet’ will be on stage at the Vortex Theatre January 8 through February 7. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are selling quick, so be sure to go to www.vortexabq.org to pick up yours.
