ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A downtown Albuquerque park is closed on Thursday as crews begin work on huge upgrades.
Mary Fox Park near 13th and Lomas is being renovated.
Work is being done for things like an irrigation system upgrade, paving and replacing trees. New shade structures, picnic tables and playground equipment are also expected.
“We are one of the great park cities in America and the reason we are is because our community and the taxpayers have decided to invest in our parks,” said Mayor Richard J. Berry.
The park will reopen in the spring.
