Local fighter, Michelle Waterson discusses upcoming documentary

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – She was ranked the number six Mixed Martial Arts fighter in the world and ranked number one in Atomweight, now her story is being told through a documentary.

Wanting to follow in her older brothers footsteps, Michelle Waterson’s journey began when she was only 10 years old. Now, Waterson holds a Black Belt in American Free Style Karate and has also trained in WuShu, Muay, Brazilian Jiu-Juitsu, Boxing, and Wrestling.

Now a mother, her training has had to change, but her story remains remarkable. A documentary has been in the works for the past two years and is currently in the editing phase. Waterson hopes to enter it in the 2016 film festival
