Chris’ Thursday Afternoon Forecast

A series of weak weather disturbances are set to impact New Mexico in the coming days.   The first one is passing to our north and it will only be able to pick up the wind along the Central Mountain Chain into the Eastern Plains for this afternoon.   That is where High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories are up for wind gusts from 50-60 mph later this afternoon.   Albuquerque won’t feel the strong wind, but instead the metro will enjoy mostly sunny skies and mild afternoon temperatures.  Another weather disturbance moves in for Friday afternoon.   This system will have a better chance to bring some mountain snow and valley mixes to central and northern New Mexico for Friday.  Temperatures will also take a tumble back below average for Friday afternoon. We will have a break between weather disturbances before another one grazes the state on Sunday.   This disturbance won’t have much moisture as well.   So instead it will kick up the breezes and reinforce chilly temperatures.
