I-40 tumbleweed snowman taken down

Tumbleweed snowman

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) –Something is missing along I-40 on Tuesday, the giant tumbleweed snowman.

The snowman went up in early December to mark the Christmas season in Albuquerque.

It was made of tumbleweeds that were collected throughout the year. But now it is a regular pile of tumbleweeds.

Crews with the Albuquerque Metro Arroyo Flood Control Authority took it down Tuesday morning.

The tumbleweeds were taken to the landfill.

The arms, mouth, eyes, nose and scarf won’t be put up until next year.
