Snow storm leads to I-40 traffic jam

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Road conditions east of Albuquerque led to big backups on I-40 and a big traffic jam. I-40 westbound between Sedillo and Edgewood with cars backed up bumper to bumper for hours. It’s been difficult for crews to try and clear crashes out of the icy roadway.

Local roads are in even tougher shape. They’re packed with snow and ice.

“I just wish people would use a little more caution. I’m sure the weather reports are out on the radio and describing the conditions out here,” said Steve Turner of Edgewood

Icy conditions are unlikely to clear up there anytime soon.
