Rare full moon to fall on Christmas Day

Blue Moon

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – There’s an added present for everyone this holiday. For the first time in 38-years the last full moon for the year will fall on December 25th.

The last time this happened was 1977 and it won’t happen again until 2034. According to NASA, the moon will be full at 6:11 a.m. Eastern Time, which is 4:11 a.m. local time.

So after Santa drops by, go out in the morning and catch the rare and beautiful full moon.
