ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Snow showers will continue across the area on Thursday with the mountains receiving most of the snow. Christmas Day looks nice. Temperatures will actually be mild in the 50s with partly sunny skies. However, a large storm system will be brewing to our west and will roll just south of the state Saturday and Sunday. The current track indicates widespread heavy snow for southeastern New Mexico. We could even see some snow here in the metro area. The impacts of the storm will largely depend on the track. If the storm moves farther north into the state this could be a statewide travel mess. We will continue to track it but it this point the southerly track does appear more likely.
