ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man, Shaun Ryals, who brutally murdered his girlfriend, has been convicted.

Ryals then put her body in the trunk of a car she had stolen, drove it behind the Walmart near Coors and I-40 and set it on fire.

Ryals testified he and Morales had been drinking heavily and he had no memory of what happened. Because of this, the judge found him guilty of second degree murder as opposed to first in addition to arson and tampering with evidence.

Ryals will spend the next 25 years behind bars. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
