ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man must wait 27 years before he gets out of prison. Shaun Ryals, 22, was sentenced Wednesday for stabbing 19-year-old Guadalupe Morales more than 30 times back in 2013.

Ryals then put her body in the trunk of a car, drove it behind the Walmart near Coors and I-40 and set it on fire.

He testified that they had been drinking at the time and had no recollection of what happened.

Ryals was found guilty of second degree murder as well as arson and tampering with evidence.
