New Mexico senator’s laws signed by president

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – On Tuesday, New Mexico Senator Tom Udall says several sports safety laws he’s championed have been signed by the president.

The new law includes requiring the Federal Trade Commission to stop companies from using deceptive safety claims to sell youth sports gear or dietary supplements.

It also requires the feds to set standards for protective headgear and helmets. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
