Exploring voltage with Explora

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – For this morning’s ‘Cool Science’ experiment, we explored the power of voltage. One machine seen here is the Wimhurst Machine. It can actually separate electric charges. You’ll notice the voltage and sparks it creates, and its ability to light a bulb with just that.

We also ring a ‘Franklin Bell’. Allison Brody and Randy Pedro explain how this works. Kristen Currie as always is a good volunteer in the experiments. For New Year’s Eve there will be a special event for children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There’s even going to be a balloon drop. All activities are included with admission to Explora.
