ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) –  KRQE News 13 now knows when an Albuquerque officer accused of hurting a homeless man will appear before a judge.

Officer Cedric Greer responded to a call near Central and Louisiana this spring. Police say a cadet witnessed Greer beat the man accused of trespassing. But it wasn’t recorded on the officer’s lapel video.

He faces misdemeanor battery.

The trial was supposed to start Tuesday, but Greer’s attorney asked for it to be delayed because of scheduling conflicts.

It’s now set to start January 5.
