New Mexico curfew legislation moves forward

The New Mexico Roundhouse - 2015 Legislative Session

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Two state lawmakers moved forward Wednesday with proposed curfew legislation in New Mexico.

They pre-filed House Bill 29 which would allow cities and counties to enact curfew ordinances for those 16 years old and younger. The bill provides exceptions for those participating in a school function or if they are with a parent or guardian.

Other lawmakers have expressed concerns about curfews in the past, saying it could lead to profiling. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
