ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Sandia Labs is making sure no foster child goes without a gift this Christmas.

Employees donated more than 500 gifts to New Mexico Kids Matter, a volunteer organization who advocates for abused or neglected children.

This year the organization took over providing more than 900 gifts to foster kids. They say Sandia Labs really came through by providing most of it.

“Maybe your favorite toy that you got on your birthday or Christmas is still in the last home you were at. So to be able to have a brand new toy, not a used toy, that’s just so important to be able to hold and cuddle and take with you,” said Veronica Montano-Pilch of New Mexico Kids Matter.

CYFD will wrap the toys before they’re given to the kids. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
