Police: 13-year-old arrested after bomb scare at middle school

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) A 13-year-old boy is in custody after a bomb threat at Hermosa Middle School.

A written threat was found on the wall in the boy’s restroom, according to police.

The middle school was under a precautionary lockdown while officials conducted a search, but it was lifted later in the day.

Students later reported a possible suspect. A 13-year-old boy was arrested and charged with bomb scares, a fourth degree felony and interference with the educational process, a petty misdemeanor.

That boy is being held at San Juan County Juvenile Detention Center.
