How to protect your skin in the winter months

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – People often think they don’t need to protect themselves as much in the winter time. Think again, winter months are just as important as the summer to cover up with some SPF. One thing especially, for skiers and snowboarders, you of all people should be wearing sunblock when hitting the slopes.

Living at the elevation that we do here in Albuquerque also plays its part. We’re much closer to the sun than those at sea level, and must keep that in mind. Dr. Jeffrey Morehouse shares a few myths about the sun during the winter months. He also provides how to best approach skin care during those months as well. Don’t let the cooler weather fool you, the sun is still there. He also discusses some of the newer implications of skin cancer. Even more, how it’s affecting younger people.
