A powerful and cold Pacific storm system will pass through New Mexico through the weekend. The storm will spread showers across the western portion of the state overnight and showers will turn to snow as a cold front passes early on Saturday morning. Here in the Albuquerque area we will see showers develop early in the morning hours and continue through the day on and off. The highest snow amounts will fall over the northern mountains where we could see up to a foot of new snow. The storm clears the state by Sunday with colder air and clearing skies.
