Clovis man surrenders after nearly four hour SWAT standoff

CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE)– A Clovis man is facing false imprisonment charges after a nearly four hour swat standoff.

It all started late Saturday night when police responded to a domestic violence call.

When police arrived they made contact with 42-year-old James Pacheco who refused to let a woman leave the apartment.

According to police Pacheco told officers he would not hesitate to “smoke” any officers who came in.

Hours later officers were able to negotiate with Pacheco and he surrendered.
