Police officer charged with battery against son’s teacher

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A Corrales Police Officer is facing a battery charge after a dispute with her son’s teacher.

33-year-old Julie Rogers is accused of shoulder bumping and aggressively shaking the hand of a kindergarten teacher at Bosque Farms Elementary back in October.

In a criminal complaint obtained by the Journal, Rogers told officers she was unaware of anything that happened during the meeting that day and added that when she walked down the hallway she may have hit the teacher when the teacher tried to stop her.

The Corrales Police Chief says they will await the outcome of court proceedings to decide Roger’s future with the department.

She has been with the department since June.
