ALBUQUERQUE (AP) – More snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected for some parts of New Mexico.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service say the wintry weather will persist through early Saturday, making for treacherous driving conditions. Slick and icy roads were reported Friday along Interstate 40 east of Albuquerque and across the eastern plains.

Forecasters had issued winter storm and freezing rain advisories for north-central New Mexico and the northeastern corner of the state. They also warned of ice storms along the Texas-New Mexico border. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
