Durango grandfather accused of grabbing 12-year-old in bullying situation

DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – A Durango grandfather is facing charges for allegedly going too far when handling a bullying situation.

According to the Durango Herald, police say a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old had been picking on Robert Sauer’s 12-year-old grandson and stole his skateboard and backpack. Sauer confronted the two near Durango High School and grabbed the 12-year-old and pulled him back to his car to question him.

Sauer is now facing a criminal summons for an assault charge. The boy that he is accused of grabbing was not hurt.

The 12-year-old and the 14-year-old were both charged with theft.
