ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A Bible study group is thanking Albuquerque paramedics who saved a woman.

“From the initial call when we saw the panic in everyone’s face, and then until the end when everyone was basically smiling to know the outcome was much better, was rewarding,” Lt. Daniel Olivares, Albuquerque Fire Department Paramedic.

Lieutenant Paramedic Olivares and his partner, Kathryn Basile were called out to the area of 8th and Central.

A homeless woman was having trouble breathing and didn’t have an inhaler. The paramedics say she then had a seizure, sending the group into a panic.

“Her fiancé was obviously very concerned, other people were concerned. People trying to be as helpful as possible, so it’s a lot to deal with,” said Kathryn Basile with the Albuquerque Fire Department.

On Monday, the group wrote a letter to AFD, thanking them for getting the woman breathing again. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
