ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Three new TV ads are hitting the airway designed to shock people so they don’t drink and drive.
These new ads feature New Mexico State Police Officers sharing their personal stores of coming face to face with drunk drivers.
So far this year, nearly 100 people have been killed in alcohol-related crashes. A State Police Officer tells KRQE News 13 the hardest part of his job is informing families they’ve lost someone to a repeat offender.
“They don’t seem to learn. With this campaign, hopefully we can get that one person to finally click and make arrangements to get a ride,” said Toby Lafave of New Mexico State Police.
The new ads will start airing next week.
