Police: Joy ride in Water Authority truck ends in wreck

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police arrested a man near Double Eagle Airport who they say went on a joy ride in a water authority truck and did a lot of damage.

It started Saturday. Police say Dylan Sayers asked a security guard near the Soil Amendment Facility for a ride to the airport, which the guard turned down. Soon after, Sayers jumped a fence and stole a Water Authority truck parked inside.

Police say Sayers rammed through two locked fences before slamming into a small building, disabling the truck.

Sayers was arrested on criminal damage and vehicle theft charges. In court Sunday a judge reduced his bond to $1,000 cash or surety.
