Lobo hoops win in Cruces but concerns swirl about Devon Williams

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- The Lobos beat the Aggies in Las Cruces in their first meeting of the Rio Grande Rivalry this year. The final score was 83-74 with Butler transfer Elijah Brown leading the way with 31 points, and Cullen Neal also tacking on 18 points of his own.

In the second half something peculiar happened with UNM forward Devon Williams, as he just seemed to fall and not get up. In the instant replay it isn’t clear what happened to Williams. According to the Albuquerque Journal’s Geoff Grammar, Coach Neal told him that it is a neck injury and the coaches are staying in Las Cruces for further examination. We will keep you posted on Devon Williams as more information comes in.

The Lobos are now 2-0 on the season after this win. Next up is Loyola University Chicago on Wednesday at 7 pm at Wise Pies Arena AKA The Pit for the 2015 Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge.
