Southwest Arts Group to host annual holiday celebration

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Residents of the Southwest Arts Group will present its annual holiday celebration concert, “A Swingin’ Holiday Celebration” which will be used to raise funds for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the performing arts center and the Southwest Arts Group.

There will be two performances, November 27 and 28 at 7pm. It will be at the African American Performing Arts Center.

The concert will be comprised of traditional and new approaches to choral music presentation, as well as entertaining interpretations of old favorites like Santa’s Elves and Frosty the Snowman.

The Southwest Arts Group is housed at the African American Performing Arts Center as a resident arts program. The members learn singing, dancing, aspects of musical style and stage movement.

They come from various walks of life with the common goal of coming together to produce high quality music. The artists are coached by master teachers and receive feedback on their progress, as well as free voice lessons.
