Protesters march after board votes to give officer job back

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – More than two dozen people marched down Central protesting the city personnel board’s recommendation to give former officer, Jeremy Dear, his job back.

Albuquerque Police fired him after a series of disciplinary actions, including the night he shot and killed suspected truck thief Mary Hawkes without recording it.

The city says it will fight to keep Dear off the force.

Demonstrators made their way from Central and Wyoming to Zuni where the 19-year-old was killed last year.
