A very active weather weekend will unfold starting tomorrow afternoon. A storm system will slide through southern New Mexico Saturday afternoon into Sunday. The storm will tap into moisture and spread showers across the southern half of the state. We could even pick up a few spot showers here in the metro Sunday afternoon. Then, the real action begins to unfold on Monday. A powerful and cold storm will drop down from the Pacific Northwest. This storm will spread heavy mountain snow and valley mixes across most of northern New Mexico and central sections of the state on Monday. We could be looking at big time snow numbers for the mountains of the north. Stay tuned this weekend for more details.
