Albuquerque man wants stolen GolfBoard returned

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – When Felix Rabanal plays golf, he makes an entrance.

That’s because he travels all 18 holes on what’s called a GolfBoard.

“A GolfBoard is actually a golf cart that you ride like a skateboard,” said Rabanal.

Some people in other states already use the board. It’s meant to help speed up the time it takes traveling in between holes and add more fun to the game.

But Rabanal said he’s the only one in Albuquerque to have one.

“Everybody knows that it belongs to me, because they see me riding it all the time on the golf course,” said Rabanal.

So he was crushed when someone broke into his car yesterday and stole the nearly $7,000 board.

“I usually leave it in my car all the time because it’s a fairly large item,” said Rabanal.

But Rabanal is still holding out hope for its return. He said since it’s the only one of its kind in Albuquerque, it should be easy to spot.

“What are they going to do with it,” said Rabanal. “They can’t ride with it anywhere withou somebody knowing who it belongs to.”

For now, Rabanal is forced to ditch his wheels and just walk the course.

But he hopes he can surf the greens again soon.

“Being able to enjoy not only playing golf but riding the board, kind of increases the fun factor in golf,” said Rabanal.
