Rail Runner program extended to give vets free pass

Rail Runner to offer free rides to veterans

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A program that gives vets a free annual pass for the Rail Runner has been so successful, it has been extended.

It was created to help vets get to appointments, job interviews and school.

Rail Runner officials say nearly 5,000 veterans have signed up since the program was launched last year.

If you are a vet, all you need is a VA medical card to get your pass. You can sign up for one at the NM Rail Runner customer service office in downtown Albuquerque and at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center in southeast Albuquerque.
