ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A troubled Albuquerque daycare is getting rid of its director so they can re-open soon.
Children, Youth, and Families Department shut down the Eastern Child Development Center near San Mateo and Gibson in September after cellphone video showed Ariadnys Armas-Camacho violently shaking a baby. She was later arrested.
The state launched its own investigation and found several problems, including kids left unattended. CYFD ordered changes, including hiring a new director.
The center planned to fight those requirements in an appeal hearing on Thursday. However, the state now says the center will comply.
